Students who enroll in the Spring 2024 Semester and after<\/strong> <\/span>must equip themselves with English skills.
They must satisfy one of the following criteria:
1.Complete the online English grammar course at the elementary level (600L) in accordance with the “Implementation Regulations for the Remedial Teaching Program for Foreign Language Competence” of our university, or earn recognition by completing 6 credits of t College of Arts-wide English professional courses offered by our university (elective institution-wide English professional courses are considered as foreign language competence, and these credits are not counted towards graduation credits).
2. Complete two EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) courses offered in the College of Arts.
3. Participate in a language proficiency examination and achieve a level of B2 or higher according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or an equivalent score (Attachment: CEFR and English language certification score conversion table).
4.Publish at least one paper in an international academic journal (as the first author) or present at least one paper at an international technical academic conference.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Eastern Art History Program
<\/b>Japanese is the appointed second foreign language for all students of the EAH program. Students must equip themselves with basic Japanese-language skills before applying to take the Master\u2019s Degree Thesis Defense or before going through school leaving procedures. They must satisfy one of the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>

  1. Students should receive formal training in the Japanese language for two years at the equivalent of undergraduate level at a domestic or overseas university as recognized by the ROC Ministry of Education or at a language center recognized by the ROC government, with scores over 70 (of a maximum score of 100) each semester.<\/li>
  2. Students shall pass the N4 examination of the newly revised Japanese Language Proficiency Test (implemented in 2010) conducted by the Union of Interchange Education, Japan (AIEJ) or the Japan Foundation.<\/li>
  3. Students shall pass the Language Proficiency Test conducted by the GIAH.<\/li>
  4. Students who have completed a degree using Japanese language may apply for exemption.<\/li>
  5. In cases where students choose other Eastern languages as their second foreign language due to the requirements, they must obtain their adviser\u2019s letter of consent and evidence of having achieved the equivalent of two-year formal training in the second foreign language.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Western<\/strong> Art History Program
    <\/strong><\/b>Students who enroll before the Spring 2024 Semester<\/strong><\/span>, must fulfill the Second Foreigner Language Requirement.
    Students of the WAH program must select a second Western European language (either German, French, Italian or Spanish). Students must equip themselves with basic skills in a second foreign language before applying to take the Master\u2019s Degree Thesis Defense or before going through school leaving procedures. They must satisfy one of the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n

    2. Students should attend the language tests and be qualified at B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).<\/span><\/li>\n
