General Outline<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>

Front page: contains important information as student\u2019s name, e-mail address, semester, title of course, topic (see sample).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Sample: Cover Sheet Term Paper<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>

Do not insert any special layout or photographs on the front page.\u00a0
<\/span>Third and following pages: text<\/span><\/p>

Bibliography: to be inserted at the end of the text, before the illustrations, on a separate page.<\/span><\/p>

Print your text <\/span>one-sided<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Headings: headings must always be followed by text.<\/span><\/p>

Do not put a heading without text at the bottom of a page, with the text following on the next page. Rather start a new page with the new heading and leave the page bottom blank.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Font, Size, Spacing, Indent<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>

Font: Times New Roman for main text, footnotes and page numbers<\/span><\/p>

Main text: Size 12 pt, line spacing: 1 1\/2 lines.<\/span><\/p>

Footnotes: Size 10 pt, line spacing 1 line.<\/span><\/p>

Indent on the left:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

At the beginning of a new paragraph <\/span>c.<\/span><\/i> 1 cm indent.\u00a0
<\/span><\/span>No indent after a headline!<\/span><\/span><\/p>

One more line after the end of a chapter.<\/span><\/p>

Formatting<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>

Format your text automatically<\/b><\/span> (indent, headings, hyphenation, etc.). This helps to save time.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

New page after frontispiece, table of contents, main text, bibliography and illustration part.<\/span><\/p>

Fixed page break: use \u201cctrl + fn \u2192 enter\u201d for inserting a page break (new page).<\/span><\/p>

Pagination<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>

Pages should be numbered (at the lower margin of the page, center or at the right).
<\/span>The front page (frontispiece) is not numbered, but counted as page 1 (see insert \u2192 page number).
<\/span>Continue with page 2 (= Table of Contents).
<\/span>Formatting of page numbers: Adjust font (Times New Roman) to the text.
<\/span>Second page: Table of Contents with the headings of the paragraphs and the page numbers.
<\/span>Page numbering: only a number, without \u201cp.\u201d or dashes \u2013 below, in the center of the page footer.<\/span><\/p>

How to remove the page number 1 on the front page:<\/span><\/p>

  1. In the menu choose \u201cInsert\u201d<\/span><\/li>
  2. Click \u201cPage Number\u201d<\/span><\/li>
  3. Click \u201cBottom of Page\u201d \u2192 Choose centered<\/span><\/li>
  4. Click \u201cDifferent First Page\u201d \u2192 the page number on the frontispiece will disappear
