Do not insert illustrations within the text.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Illustrations<\/strong> should be <strong>referred in the text<\/strong> and consistently numbered (fig. 1, 2, 3 \u2026).<br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Put the indication (fig. x) at a suitable place, that is, after the work of art has been mentioned. You may put the indication; best at the end of a sentence, before the period.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Punctuation mark follows the brackets:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Examples:<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2026, as can be noted in the earlier portrait (fig. 4).<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Raphael\u2019s <em>Saint Cecilia<\/em> in Bologna (fig. 6), a painting he already knew from etchings, became now one of his favorite pieces.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Search for good illustrations.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Print the illustrations large enough.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Max. 4 illustrations per page.<\/span><\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Captions<\/span><\/h3><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The captions are beneath or beside the illustrations.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the caption, \u201cfig.\u201d should be eliminated.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Example 1 (Paintings, sculptures, etc.):<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(number). Artist, <em>Title of the art work<\/em> (in italics), date, place, museum\/archive\/etc.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1. Raphael, <em>The Ecstasy of Saint Cecilia<\/em>, <em>c.<\/em> 1514\u201317, Bologna, Pinacoteca Nazionale.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Example 2 (Topography):<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(number). Place, Name of the monument (church, house, castle etc.), if shown: Indication of detail(s). In the case that an author is known, it is not necessary to name him.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7. Vicenza, <em>Villa Rotonda<\/em>, portico.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5.
