The “Taihoku Higher School ” was restructured as the “Taiwan Provincial Taipei High School.”

1946

The “Taiwan Provincial Teachers College” was established and shared the campus with the “Taiwan Provincial Taipei High School.”

1947

The Taiwan Provincial Teachers College established the “Department of Art and Crafts.”

1949

The “Department of Art and Crafts” was renamed the “Department of Art.”

1955

The “Taiwan Provincial Teachers College” was restructured as the “Provincial Taiwan Normal University.”

1967

The “Provincial Taiwan Normal University” was restructured as the “National Taiwan Normal University,” establishing four colleges: Education, Liberal Arts, Science, and Art.

The “Department of Art” was renamed the “Department of Fine Arts” and became part of the College of Art.

1981

The Master program in the Department of Fine Arts was established, initially offering concentrations in Art Education, Art Administration, Chinese Art History, Western Art History, Chinese Painting, Western Painting, and Art Instruction.

The Preparatory Office of the Graduate Institute of Art History was established.

The Preparatory Office organized the “East-West Perspectives on Portraiture” international symposium at the National Taiwan Museum.

The Institute of Art History was established. The director was Professor Tzeng Shai-Shu; the professor included Professors Tseng Su-Liang, Lin Li-Chiang, and Lu Hui-Wen; adjunct professor included Professors Huang Lan-Shiang and Wang Cheng-Hua.

Professor Lu Hui-Wen was appointed as an assistant professor until August 1, 2009.

Professors Huang Lan-Shiang and Wang Cheng-Hua were appointed as adjunct professors.
