碩士主修中國繪畫、副修中國書法,博士主修中國繪畫及版畫。希望繼續對中國繪畫與版畫有更深入的探索,研究晚明繪畫與視覺文化間相互影響與傳播(即包含不同的藝術媒材相互交流學習之複雜關係)、近代中國藝術對西方文化之應變與學習、中日文化與藝術交流,以及東西文化於近代世界交流所產生之衝擊與影響等議題。
I major in Chinese paintings and calligraphy in my MA study and later specialize in Chinese woodblock prints for the PhD study. I have written extensively on woodblock-print illustration, print culture and narrative pictures in late Ming China. Recently I also extend my research on the cultural exchanges in Pre-modern East-Asia, with a focus on Nagasaki area where China, Japan and the Netherlands encountered with one another. Currently, I am working on the Suzhou narrative paintings, a genre made mostly in late Ming and early Qing periods. These paintings were first made for the late Ming thriving art market and were later transported to Japan and even Europe, deemed as the ancient Chinese master pieces, which then had impact on the local painting making business. I am interested in investigating the encounters of different cultures and different countries and hope to gain more insight on the impact of 17th-century globalization to cultures and the making of arts.
