Graduates of the Graduate Institute of Art History, NTNU possess deep knowledge of art and strong capabilities in cultural analysis, leading to diverse and extensive career choices.
Common career paths include positions in museums, art galleries, and cultural research institutions, as well as becoming art market professionals, arts magazine editors, and cultural heritage preservation and restoration specialists. Additionally, our graduates pursue careers in media, education, publishing, and the broader cultural and creative industries. Many also choose to continue their academic journey by enrolling in Ph.D. programs to become professional scholars or researchers.

Internship

The Institute strongly encourages students to participate in internships to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application. We provide a wide range of internship channels, information, and opportunities, encouraging students to pursue internships at museums, art galleries, commercial galleries, cultural institutions, and research centers.
Through these experiences, we aim to help students get involved in exhibition planning, artifact conservation, art education and promotion, and related research work. This allows students to gain in-depth knowledge of the operations of the art and cultural industries, develop practical experience and professional skills, and establish a solid foundation for their future careers.
